Frequently Asked Questions
Before your Appointment
Our team will want to check on any insurance benefits you may have related to bariatric surgery, nutritional counseling, etc. and we will have this information ready for your first visit.
You should receive paperwork in the mail to complete prior to your visit. Please complete this and bring it with you to your appointment, to ensure we get you with the provider as soon as possible.
Arrival
Please arrive at least 30 minutes before all scheduled appointments so that we can get you checked in and have you complete some additional acknowledgments/paperwork.
Body Composition Machine
When you are called back to see the provider, you will have basic vitals taken (blood pressure, temperature, weight). Our clinic utilizes the most current technology of a bioimpedance body composition machine so that we can measure much more than just your weight! With this machine we can help you track your muscle mass, water weight, etc.
In order to use this machine, you will have to remove your socks and shoes and stand on the machine with bare feet, while holding on to the rails with your hands. You won’t feel anything while it is happening, and it takes just a few minutes. This is valuable information to help you and your provider track progress and set goals. Please wear shoes/socks that you can easily remove to make this process a little easier!
Pharmaceutical Weight Loss Medications
You and your provider may decide that an oral medication and/or injectable medication will best benefit your weight loss goals. The provider may work with our pharmacy team to investigate your pharmacy benefits. You will receive a call or tele-visit with the pharmacy team to discuss your benefits and costs. This may take up to a week or two, so please be patient, but feel free to contact our office if you have questions about what to expect with the process. We do not provide any samples or medications at the clinic. All medication will be picked up at the pharmacy.
On-site Lab Draw
For the convenience of our patients, we offer on-site lab draw. Depending on availability, we may be able to draw your labs the same day as your appointment, or we will schedule you with a time in the next day or two. This ensures that you do not have to wait too long for the lab draw.
You will be charged a small fee of around $15 for the labs to be drawn and then we can either bill your insurance or offer you our competitive self-pay rates. The labs will show up in your patient portal but it can take a few days or up to a week to be viewed in the portal.
